A good workbook for in-class work, but not for individual study

This is not a textbook as it is a workbook. This book makes you look at patterns and data and try to figure out how they connect with each other. In my personal experience, this will help you understand the concepts better. It definitely did for me.
However, this is not a workbook you can do on your own. There are no answers in the back of the book to help you realize whether or not you did something right or got the concept down. There's not even a solutions book out there. Therefore, you must depend on your professor to help you guide you through the workbook. It is really meant as a supplement to the classroom. You are supposed to do this in class with others around you in order to discuss how to do problems or understand certain concepts. If you have a really good professor who knows what they're doing, you will gain a better understanding of chemistry than you ever would with the standard powerpoint lecture and textbook style.
But the problems in the book can sometimes be confusing with how they word it; or how they try to give you simpler analogies to help you do the actual chemistry work. That's why you need a good professor to help guide you and point you in the right direction.
Therefore, I wouldn't get this workbook if I wanted to study on my own. I would only get this if I knew I would be in a classroom setting working out the problems in class with my professor and peers' help. That is why I only gave it 4 stars. It's not a good book to do on your own. I actually really like this workbook. I wish my current chemistry professor utilized this type of teaching style in class because it just makes sense to me.

POGILs are a fair way to learn, but difficulty ...

POGILs are a fair way to learn, but difficulty is too low. Once you get actual chem work you may not be able to grasp it.
