Rod Gill, founder of New Zealand based ACE Project System Ltd., has been involved with project management his entire career and with the advanced use of Microsoft Project since its first release. Along with project management training, consulting, and Project Server implementations, Rod has a regular sideline in VBA development, mostly for Microsoft Project. Rod was drawn to VBA development and the challenge of integrating Microsoft Project with other systems after 8 years of software engineering. Rod is a long-time Microsoft Project Most Valuable Professional (MVP), first winning this prestigious technical award in 1998 for his contributions to the Microsoft communities. Rod s passion for Microsoft Project and Project VBA and for helping others has kept him in the forefront of using Microsoft Project.

VBA Programming for Microsoft Project '98 through 2010

Poorly organized, poorly edited, poorly written. With all that it gets 2 stars because sadly it is the only book that even looks badly at the Project object model. If you have to write code for Project, this is the only game town so look for a used affordable copy and bite the bullet. Note you won't find much better help on the web either. I'll add this if I am ever in need of other books on various development issues and I have a choice between this author and someone else, someone else wins hands down. Additionally this is about the only computer book I've ever submitted a review for is how bad this thing is. But again if you have to write code for Project, go on and buy it anyway.

I am using examples provided by the author with Microsoft Project 2013. None of the sample code provided by the author works. These are tested within Microsoft Project files provided by author.
