About the Author
Eliza Freed graduated from Rutgers University and returned to her hometown in rural South Jersey. Her mother encouraged her to take some time and find herself. After three months of searching, she began to bounce checks and her neighbors began to talk; her mother told her to find a job.
She settled into Corporate America, learning systems and practices and the bureaucracy that slows them. Eliza quickly discovered her creativity and gift for story telling as a corporate trainer and spent years perfecting her presentation skills and studying diversity. It's during this time she became an avid observer of the characters we meet and the heartaches we endure. Her years of study have taught her laughter is the key to survival, even when it's completely inappropriate.
She currently lives in New Jersey with her family and a misbehaving beagle named Odin. An avid swimmer, if Eliza is not with her family and friends, she'd rather be underwater. While she enjoys many genres, she has always been a sucker for a love story...the more screwed up the better.

The story picks up a couple days where Forgive Me left off. Charlotte is dealing with the reality that Jason cheated and has a child on the way. Unsure how to pick herself up and move forward she at first wallows in self-pity and hatred. Slowly she comes out of her shell and Noble steps in. The long time best friend who is ready to try his hardest to piece together Charlotte's broken heart.
Oh wow! I knew I would like this book because I enjoyed the first one but OH MY GOSH! Redeem Me is mostly everything I wanted Forgive Me to be. Redeem me took it's time in jumping into the romance of this novel. You got the story first, whereas I felt Forgive me just threw you into the fire that was Jason and Charlotte. And honestly I almost wish there never was a Jason and Charlotte; but to enjoy Noble and Charlotte you have to have lived through the relationship that is Jason and Charlotte.
I appreciated that Freed didn't just make you jump from Noble to Jason quickly. She eases you away from Jason as Charlotte slowly tries to ease away from him. I was most upset that Charlotte still at the end isn't fully letting herself be happy with Noble because she misses Jason, but I see progress in how she handles herself. Freed writes about a real life relationship essentially, it's not likely that most people would've forgiven and forgotten to get back with the man who broke you into a million pieces. She writes about raw heartbreak and the torture that it is when putting yourself back together, as well about the torture of feeling like you are unworthy of moving on. Noble is so patient, he is all any girl would want in this situation-heck I think he's all any girl would want any time: no circumstances needed. Which Charlotte makes mention of most of the time she's thinking of him, but she realizes that he is good for her, and he is exactly what she needs.
I am so excited for the next book, Save Me, to come out this coming Winter. The ending of Redeem me isn't completely a cliffhanger but I would love to see what happens. I want to see if Charlotte is actually able to come back to being herself.

Redeem Me is the second installment to the Lost Souls series by Eliza Freed.
Redeem Me picks up where Forgive Me left off. Charlotte O’Brien is still reeling from her parents’ sudden death when a delivery truck driver struck them. During the two years after their death, Charlotte seeks comfort in Jason Leer. Jason is also recovering from his own loss, his mother’s death that occurred one year prior to the O’Brien’s untimely passing.
Jason and Charlotte grew up with each other. They were close friends in school and during high school; however, they went their separate ways. After being together for two years, Jason royally screws everything up and personally, I’d want to hurt him too. I was so angry with him! I wanted to throw my Kindle several times, because of how big of a jerk he could be.
Then there is Noble. Poor Noble. Nick (Noble) Sinclair is one of Charlotte’s best friends. After Jason screws up, Charlotte leans on Noble to recover. I really felt like Noble would be the perfect boyfriend. He was kind, patient, and stuck by Charlotte’s side even while she was picking up the pieces after Jason’s betrayal. He wants to be with Charlotte and he is willing to wait but Jason still holds a place in her heart even if he smashed it into a million pieces.
I really enjoyed the plot of this book. I was confused a few times early on in the book because of the switch ups with the locations. As I continued to read, things started to play out and I really got into it. The romances scenes in this book were not overplayed. It was just the right amount of detail. I couldn’t put it down and caught myself falling asleep but waking up to read more.
One of the things that I really loved about this book that I haven’t read many other places was Charlotte going to church. Redeem Me discusses forgiveness, anger, grief and even quotes some scripture which I loved.
Eliza Freed wrote another fabulous book and I’m eager to read the next, Save Me! I give this book 4 stars.

Charlotte somehow made it work. She managed to get her job to allow her to work from Oklahoma so she could finally be with Jason after 2 years of a fiery long-distance relationship. Then it all comes crumbling down. Having just learned an ugly truth, Charlotte finds herself back in Salem County trying to pick herself up off the floor once again. In swoops white knight Noble and this intense duo becomes a trio, but will Charlotte be able to let go of Jason for good?
If Forgive Me left you with an open wound, Redeem Me will throw a thousand tons of salt on it. Holy. Butt. As we learned at the end of Forgive Me, Jason somehow ended up sleeping with Horrible Stephanie. The details were a bit fuzzy since he was incredibly drunk, but it appeared to me he wasn’t quite conscious as it was happening. But whatever the details, this was not going to go over well with Charlotte…especially after we learn there are further complications.
This book broke me. I cannot lie. I loved it but at times I was so emotional I had to put it down and get some air. Charlotte’s life sinks into despair and it was very tough to watch. It was specifically tough because we don’t get much info on how the truth about Jason and Stephanie came out until the middle of the book and we hardly get any Jason at all. Charlotte ignores all of Jason’s calls and letters and completely avoids dealing with it. It’s funny because she used Jason to completely avoid dealing with the death of her parents. I’m sensing a pattern with this girl. I wanted to see her pick herself up off the floor herself and confront Jason and either fix things or have closure but that did not happen. So we continue on her emotional journey and suffer right along with her. Luckily, Noble enters the picture and we get some happiness in the form of their budding relationship.
For the record, I’m not ok with her starting a relationship with another guy before having closure with Jason, but Noble is so fantastic it’s hard not to love them together. He has always been a true and loyal friend to her and it was heartwarming to learn he always wanted more than friendship with her. I was always unsure of Jason and Charlotte’s relationship and Noble does much to sway me that he is the guy for her, but I still can’t get over Jason and was very furious that Charlotte tried to move on before getting all the answers from him.
As much as this book had me feeling up, down, good, bad, ticked off and enraptured, I loved every minute of it. I couldn’t put it down! I’m not sure I’ve ever had such severe and impassioned feelings about a book. As much as the novels have hurt, I can do nothing but vehemently revere them and urge you to start this series right now. Everybody needs an ugly cry every now and then and you might as well do it while engrossed in a fantastic story of love, grief, passion and forgiveness.
My grade: A-
Almost a day after finishing the novel, I am still in a glass case of emotion about it. My feelings are all over the place and I don’t have any idea how this saga is going to end. You won’t regret a moment spent reading this series.
